Aharonov-Bohm oscillations of electrical and thermal properties of a quantum dot ring geometry

We investigate Aharonov-Bohm oscillations of the electrical current through a strongly correlated quantum dot embedded in an arbitrary scattering geometry in the linear and nonlinear regime. We also study the temperature and ux dependence of the thermopower S and nd that it changes sign with temperature. At the temperature where S(T0) = 0, the thermal properties are strongly ux dependent as compared to the electrical conductance.

We define two laterally gated small quantum dots (∼ 15 electrons) in an Aharonov-Bohm geometry in which the coupling between the two dots can be broadly changed. For weakly coupled quantum dots we find Aharonov-Bohm oscillations. In an intermediate coupling regime we concentrate on the molecular states of the double dot and extract the magnetic field dependence of the coherent coupling.
